Evaluations and Rankings Policy
Effective November 1, 2026
This policy explains how Road to Prep evaluations and rankings work and who can see them.
1. Who evaluates
Evaluations are written by Road to Prep staff and approved partner evaluators who agree to our Evaluator Agreement. Evaluator names aren't shown; every evaluation is from Road to Prep.
2. What an evaluation is
An evaluation is an honest opinion about an athlete's play at a specific event or in specific film, at that point in time. It includes star ratings, category scores, a short headline and, sometimes, a full written report. Athletes develop quickly; an evaluation describes what we saw, not what an athlete will become. Evaluations aren't guarantees of admission, roster spots or recruiting outcomes, and they aren't endorsements by any school.
3. Who can see evaluations
- The family sees their athlete's ratings and headline. Pro members also see the full written report.
- Verified school staff can see evaluations of athletes whose profiles are visible to schools.
- Road to Prep evaluators and administrators can see evaluations to do their work.
- Evaluations are never public.
4. Rankings
- Road to Prep publishes rankings by sport, gender and class.
- An athlete appears by name in public rankings only if a parent opts in. The public listing shows name, position, club and state only, never contact information, school or academic details.
- Verified school staff may also see ranked athletes whose profiles are visible to schools, even if they aren't in the public list.
- Parents can opt out at any time from the athlete's profile, and the athlete is removed from public rankings right away.
5. Fairness
Rankings and evaluations are never for sale. Buying a membership, registering for an event or purchasing a Media Pass doesn't affect an athlete's evaluation or ranking. Evaluators must disclose conflicts of interest and may not evaluate athletes they coach or are related to.
6. Questions and corrections
If you believe an evaluation contains a factual error (for example, the wrong position or graduation year), email info@roadtoprep.com and we'll review it. We may update or remove evaluations at our discretion.
