What Choate Rosemary Hall told us

What kind of student thrives here?

A curious, motivated student who wants to explore widely, pursue their interests deeply, and actively engage with others.

How students spend weekends

Weekends offer a mix of campus activities and exploring beyond campus. With no classes on Saturday or Sunday, students might go to games, dances, movies, clubs, performances, or service activities, spend time with friends in the dorms, or head into Wallingford. The Student Activities Center also organizes weekend trips and outings.

What makes the curriculum distinct

What makes Choate's curriculum different is the freedom and flexibility to shape your own learning. From electives as early as the Third Form to immersive Signature Programs and global travel opportunities, students can explore their interests in depth while learning through collaborative, project-based, and discussion-based experiences. Our Focused Freedom schedule also creates space to balance rigorous academics with reflection, well-being, and personal interests.
